Fluid Art Christmas Ornaments
I just finished varnishing my balls 🤣 - definitely not a sentence I expected to say today.

This little experiment started with curiosity: what would happen if I used fluid art techniques on Christmas ornaments? I imagined those flowing, marbled patterns - like tiny galaxies or swirling snowstorms sealed on glass - and couldn't resist trying.
The process turned out to be as messy as it was mesmerizing. Each pour had a mind of its own, and every ornament felt like a mini adventure in color and gravity. Figuring out how to suspend them upside down so I could pour, tilt, and let the paint move naturally was its own puzzle. My first setup involved chopsticks and a wooden dish rack (very high-tech), and later I switched to skewers and styrofoam for the varnishing and final drying.
The photos show them both wet - when the paint is alive and shifting - and dry, after their first coat of varnish. I'll add another layer or two soon, but I'm already in love with how they're turning out.
There's something deeply satisfying about transforming a bit of chaos into something that catches the light. These little ornaments remind me that creativity often lives right on the edge between control and letting go - and that's where the magic happens.
