Greenleaf Creations is my creative home, a place where I work across painting, jewelry, and photography.

I often use leftover paint from my paintings to create jewelry, allowing materials to move from one form to another instead of being discarded. This blog is where I share reflections on creativity, making, sustainability, and building a small, meaningful business — imperfectly, thoughtfully, and by hand.

❤️ Craft Fair on June 6th ❤️
Join us at Hässelby Slott1 for the National Day Market. We’ll be bringing along a collection of handmade jewelry, along with a few one-of-a-kind art pieces.
Come visit, explore, and see the work in person.

Tree Under the Northern Lights

Tree Under the Northern Lights

23 April 2026

This was my first time trying the tree swipe technique, and I was drawn in by both the process and the result. Somewhere along the way, a tree began to take shape, more discovered than planned. My son gave it its name, and it stayed.

An Experiment in Contrast and What Happened Next

An Experiment in Contrast and What Happened Next

21 April 2026

This post follows the evolution of a painting that began as a contrast experiment and grew through layers of glazing, washes, charcoal and unexpected techniques. It is a reflection on slowing down and shaping a piece with intention as it evolves.

Bugs, Hair, Dust and All

Bugs, Hair, Dust and All

17 April 2026

Varnishing a painting sounds simple, but it comes with its own set of challenges. From brush strokes to spray varnish and an unexpected hair caught during the final coat of varnish, this is a reflection on the process and what it has taught me. Sometimes the smallest imperfections end up teaching the biggest lessons.

When Is It Finished?

14 April 2026

How do you know when something is finished? This painting led me back to that question, and to the surprising ways it connects to intuition, trust, and knowing when to stop. I am still figuring it out.

A Door Within a Door

A Door Within a Door

8 April 2026

What happens when you stop trying to make something specific? This piece became a doorway, a rabbit, and a woman – all at once – depending on who was looking. What do you see?

My First Painting Sold

My First Painting Sold

7 April 2026

This piece, Scales of Fire, is going to someone I love, which makes it even more meaningful. I got to deliver it in person and see it in its new home. Grateful for this moment and everything it represents. ❤️

Roots of Gratitude

Roots of Gratitude

26 March 2026

This piece sat unfinished for nine months while I debated what it needed. When I finally returned to it, the answer felt simple - and right. Inspired by a painting and a deeply moving story shared by a stranger, this work became something more than texture and color. It became a reflection on strength, fragility, and the quiet ways love takes root and stays with us.

When a Painting Refuses to Be What You Planned

23 March 2026

I started this painting with a clear plan - and almost ruined it within minutes. What followed was a complete change in direction, and a reminder that sometimes the best thing you can do is let go of the original idea.

Where Beauty Waits

21 March 2026

Sometimes the hardest part of creating isn’t the technique - it’s beginning. This is my first botanical painting using a large four-inch brush - something that felt both exciting and intimidating to begin.

Lion

Monster Trucks, Glow-In-The-Dark Stars, and a Lion Painting

4 March 2026

An experimental painting process using kitchen tools, monster trucks, and glow-in-the-dark stars that slowly revealed a lion hidden in the layers of paint.

An experiment in layers, lemons, and learning to let go.

Beautiful Oops: learning to trust the process...again!

14 January 2026

I tried a new fluid art technique expecting a flower. What I got instead was a Beautiful Oops. Sometimes the painting knows where it wants to go before we do.

Wrecked Ring Pour

Wrecked Ring Pour

20 October 2025

Every painting I make is part art, part patience, and part dog management. This one started with excitement, a clean floor, and a reminder from my dad about five P’s.

Turning Paint Skins into Jewelry

Turning Paint Skins into Jewelry

10 October 2025

Turning leftover paint into something new has become more than a creative outlet - it’s a quiet lesson in patience, courage, and joy.

My Ode to Jackson Pollock

My Ode to Jackson Pollock

20 September 2025

Ever wanted to throw paint just for the joy of it? Turns out painting like Jackson Pollock is both creative therapy and a masterclass in intention.

Rebirth

Rebirth

15 September 2025

Beauty and struggle often live side by side. From the ashes comes renewal, and from fire comes change. My latest painting, Rebirth, is my attempt to capture that delicate balance.

Trust The Process

Trust The Process

22 August 2025

Art can be exhilarating - and soul-crushing when things don’t go as planned. This is the story of a blow-dryer, a golden nebula, and what I’m learning about resilience.
